We Don’t Just Make Pizzas, We Make People Happy
So the other day I had to serve because one of the servers called in. It was one of our busiest days, and I was pretty nervous since I’ve only served a handful of times. This little girl and her mom came in to eat the buffet, and the first thing she asked me was if I could sign her yearbook. I signed her yearbook and then asked them what they’d like to drink.
When I came back, the little girl was telling me how she told her friends how cool it would be to get all the workers from Pizza Hut to sign her yearbook; she said, “I know I probably won’t be able to get everyone to sign it, but it’s a cool idea.” After putting in her request for a pizza, checking on them a few more times and then telling her that her pizza was now on the buffet, we had started to slow down a little bit.
I asked the little girl how many people she had gotten to sign her yearbook from Pizza Hut. She said she had only gotten three people, including me (there were about seven or eight employees that night). So I asked her, “Would you like for me to take your yearbook into the back and have everyone sign it for you?” This little girl had the BIGGEST smile on her face and was just so happy that I asked.
I got everyone but one driver who was out on the road to sign this little girls yearbook. Something as small as having all the employees at Pizza Hut sign her yearbook made her so happy, and it made me so happy to be able to make her happy. As I was sweeping around a table, she came up to me and gave me this note before she left. This little girl made my stressful night of serving so much better and made me feel proud to work for Pizza Hut and be able to impact my customers lives. That’s what delivering FUN is all about!
