Above and Beyond
Matt from our Twin Oaks, Mo., Team used quick thinking and kindness to help out a customer who was injured answering the door last week.
Matt was delivering an order to one of our regular customers, but when he got to the door and rang the bell, he heard a strange noise. After several seconds of silence and the customer not answering, Matt began to yell through the door to see if she was alright. He told her that if she could not get to door, to open the garage door and he would go there. When he came around the corner to the garage, the door was opening. The customer was holding the front door knob and her head was bleeding. When she had reached to open the front door, the handle had come off causing her to lose balance and fall, hitting her head on a table.
Matt helped the woman back into her home and asked if he could call an ambulance. She asked that he call her daughter instead, so Matt got the customer’s phone, found her daughter’s number and explained the situation. The daughter agreed that they should call an ambulance, so Matt waited with the women until she was safe in the ambulance and leaving for treatment. The next day the customer called Matt to thank him for being so kind and taking care of her!
We are so very proud to have Matt on this team! For his quick thinking and kind actions, the St. Louis Team recognized Matt with two Cardinals baseball tickets and $20 gift card!
