NPC Donates $42,500 to Children’s Mercy NICU in 2016
NPC recently presented Children’s Mercy Hospital with a check for $42,500. Since 2009, NPC has donated more than $385,000 to Children’s Mercy in support of various hospital initiatives!
Each year, NPC’s Midwest and Ozark restaurants coordinate community fundraising campaigns benefiting the hospital, and funds raised are designated for a specific area of need at Children’s Mercy. Our Kansas City and Pittsburg offices also participate in these campaigns. In years past, NPC’s donations have supported sponsorships of Red Hot Night, a gift to the Children’s Mercy East capital campaign, support of the Children’s Kansas City – Joplin-Freeman Health System clinic, and a wagon corral at the hospital’s Independence, Mo., location. This year’s funds will support the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
“Each year, we take great pride in supporting Children’s Mercy Hospital. We are so fortunate in this area to have such a treasure right in our backyards,” Jim Schwartz said. “We thank the many team members of NPC and our gracious customers who support this campaign each year. We’re also blessed to work with a tremendous staff and leadership at Children’s Mercy, and we look forward to partnering with the hospital in coming years.”
Children’s Mercy has the highest-level NICU in the region, Level IV, and here they provide 24/7 care to the smallest, and often most critically-ill, newborns in the area — regardless of the family’s ability to pay. The NICU’s services are supported by more than 400 pediatric newborn medicine specialists and the most advanced technology to provide access to outstanding intensive care!
