NPC Presents Heisman Award to Maryland HS Senior
Picture sitting in the lunch room as a high school senior on your average Tuesday.
Then imagine seeing your parents suddenly walk in…
…followed by your teachers and coaches – past and present.
And the principal. And they’re all looking at you.
That was the scene on November 7 for Ian McGrory, a senior at Queen Anne’s County High School in Centreville, Maryland, who was recognized as one of 10 National Finalists for The Wendy’s High School Heisman program.
Patrick Parks, Regional Manager for Central Maryland – a franchise of Wendy’s that’s owned by NPC International – and Tricia Alfaro, Marketing Manager for NPC, were also in tow that day with Ian’s award.
During an impromptu ceremony, Patrick talked about what it means to be a Heisman finalist and then shared the good news of Ian’s selection.
“He was surprised and very appreciative,” Tricia said. “Very nice young man with a bright future ahead of him.”
The 10 Heisman National Finalists include five senior males and five senior females from each of the five geographic Heisman regions. National Finalists receive a $5,000 college scholarship, an invitation to the Wendy’s High School Heisman Weekend in New York City, a gold medal, and a Wendy’s High School Heisman National Finalist patch.
The Wendy’s High School Heisman program was created by our founder, Dave Thomas, in 1994 and has since recognized more than 600,000 high school seniors. The goal is to inspire local youth to strive for greatness in academics, athletics and community involvement.
Eligibility begins with maintaining a GPA of 3.0 (B average) or better. Applicants also need to be proven leaders and role models within their school and community, and participate in at least one school-sponsored sport. ?

Thank you, will do 🙂
Great Team.
i know
we need to charge people for extra sauce on pizza we charge for all other sauces and we should put on medium ladle when they pay for it.
We already do charge for extra sauce, do you not at your location? Woopsies!
This seems unjust. The other sauces are packaged for serving sizes while the amount of sauce depends on the person putting it on. Sauce is extremely cheap to make and ship.
Should be a way to stop people from getting free pizzas just with a complaint. I have some that will do it alot just to get free stuff or they will call csc and they give them free stuff. It gets to be crazy on how often this happens at my store.
Those photo captions though! “Ian being recognized for his great accomplishments.?” Why the question mark, is he not being recognized? Are his accomplishments not great? Or do the people who create these posts just not know how to use a computer? 🙂
