Pizza Hut Museum Opens on Wichita State University Campus
A museum dedicated to the historical, cultural and entrepreneurial story of Pizza Hut opened Wednesday in the building that housed the first restaurant launched by the Carney brothers.
The museum was moved from Wichita State University’s main campus to its Innovation Campus.
Founder Dan Carney started what would become a worldwide restaurant brand 60 years ago with only $600.
The museum goes through the early days to what the company has become now.
“You’re 17 years old and you come to the campus, how big can I dream, what’s possible? Pizza Hut tells you what’s possible. If you think about where this started and where it ended up,” said Wichita State President John Bardo.
The museum will be open to the public beginning April 30.
