NPC team sets out to change lives with Operation Breakthrough
It was controlled chaos in the donations room of Operation Breakthrough, but the phrase “the more the merrier” has never rung more true than with overflowing donation bins lining the walls. Each day, hundreds of Kansas City kids come to Operation Breakthrough for healthy food, learning, healthcare, and more.
Jon Weber and the entire cross functional Mid Central leadership team at NPC International were thrilled for the opportunity to volunteer their time and donated over $700 worth of desperately needed hygiene products. Throughout their visit, they were able to engage with the staff and some of the children that attend pre-school and kindergarten at Operation Breakthrough. The kids enjoyed the forty pizzas donated by the team for lunch.
“It was a moving, touching, and sobering experience to be able to help these children and families in need,” says Weber.
Their volunteer time was spent setting up early education space for future children in need. After this project is done, Operation Breakthrough will be able to provide a safe learning space for hundreds more children.
The experience was so enriching that the team committed to an ongoing “giving back” partnership with Operation Breakthrough – every time the team meets in the market, they will give their time, resources, and support to the local families supported by this program.
