Introducing the NPC Family Fund
An important and enduring part of the NPC story is our tradition of giving back to the communities in which we work and live. We’re committed to supporting the communities that support us. That’s why each year, we give back to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Pizza Hut: The Literacy Project and Children’s Mercy Hospital as well as hundreds of local initiatives across the country.
This year, however, it is time to focus on our own NPC Family.
Following hurricane Katrina in 2005, NPC created a Disaster Relief Fund with donations from employees and the company as well as many of our vendors and fellow Pizza Hut franchisees. The support was overwhelming, and we were able to help hundreds of NPC employees who lost so much in that devastating storm.
For the past 12 years, we’ve continued to help employees impacted by hurricanes, tornadoes and floods throughout the country. Many of NPC’s leaders have had the great privilege of being able to hand a substantial Disaster Relief check to an employee who had literally lost everything they owned. For those of you who have experienced this, you know what these donations mean to our employees.

Unfortunately, after we took care of our employees impacted by hurricanes Harvey and Irma last year, our fund was depleted, and we had to decide on a way forward.
One of the challenges of our Disaster Relief Fund was that it was limited to “presidentially declared national disasters” – major events like floods, hurricanes and tornadoes. However, if an employee suffered a devastating accident or they lost everything in a house fire, we were not able to tap into our Relief Fund, as this was considered an “individual event.” In creating the NPC Family Fund, it was essential that we had a greater degree of flexibility in order to help MORE employees than ever.
Today, the NPC Family Fund is active, and the company has contributed the first $25,000 into the fund. But, another thing that makes this new fund special is that we will offer all NPC employees the opportunity to contribute.
The ask is for $1 per paycheck – $26 per year – an amount that many would not even notice. Multiply $1 by the thousands of NPC employees, and that small amount creates a fund that will forever be available for our NPC Family in their time of need. The NPC Family Fund is all about the POWER of $ONE!
Our kick-off campaign will run through the end of May, but you will be able to start or stop your tax-deductible contribution or change your amount at any time through NPC Connect.
To set up your payroll deduct donation, visit connect.npcinternational.com/npc-community/giving-back/ and click on Donations. When you reach the Donations page, click Add New Contribution and select NPC Family Fund from the drop-down. Then, follow the prompts to set up your donation.
The fund itself will be managed by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF), not NPC, so that all contributions are tax deductible and the donations to our employees are tax-free. Additionally, all applications for grants from the fund are submitted to and reviewed by GKCCF to ensure all decisions are objective and impartial. Finally, any communication regarding applications and grants will come from GKCCF directly. GKCCF is one of the most well-respected, knowledgeable leaders on charitable giving in the nation, and they have been a great partner to NPC since the inception of our Relief Fund in 2005. Great Idea! I signed up and left the stop date blank. However, it now shows a stop date of July, 2018.??
I left it blank and it auto filled it for 10/18 also, but was able to go in and change it till 2024 by selecting a ending date.

NPC family – thanks for all the great support so far! The ask is very little but when we put the power of NPC behind this – the multitude of good we can do is amazing! So again, if everyone could participate in a little way – we’d make a big difference. Thank you.
